Oak Park, IL
These are the words that Oak Park native LaSalle Grandeur repeats to himself daily. LaSalle Grandeur releases music for two sole reasons. The first being to express himself selfishly and freely, to be able to talk about his emotions and struggles with mental illnesses. The second reason is to let another person know, even if it’s just one other person to know it’s okay to not be okay. And to remind as many people as possible that even at your lowest you can still be at your best. LaSalle Grandeur better known to his peers and friends as LaSa, has been making music for just about ten years. He started rapping in his early High School years, attending Open Mics around the Chicago-land area spreading both his name and message. However, he started gaining notoriety with the release of his “KELLY SUMMERS” EP, which had his most known single at the time “Pointless”. With the release of his EP in 2019, he held an unofficial Pitchfork after-party/ EP Listening Show that sold out and brought up great press for the young artist. LaSalle Grandeur has been covered by Lyrical Lemonade, The Chicago Reader, The Chicago Tribune, and other underground blogs. With his unique sound, which takes inspiration from a multitude of genres, it is LaSa’s trademark to have a catchy hook be stuck in your head all day, and feel great as you sing along.
